Motorcycle Coaching for Riders and Pillion Passengers

Enjoy riding together with confidence

In my opinion, one of the best experiences in motorcycling is sharing it with someone else.

Riding with a pillion allows you to share the excitement, the places, the experiences and perhaps even help someone understand why riding becomes such a passion for so many of us.

Done well, riding two-up can open up a whole new world of touring, weekends away and shared adventures.

But carrying a pillion brings different responsibilities and different riding techniques.

The motorcycle behaves differently. Braking changes. Cornering changes. Smoothness becomes more important than ever. Most importantly, your pillion needs to feel comfortable, relaxed and confident in you as a rider.

That confidence doesn’t happen by accident.

SmoothRider offers dedicated coaching for both the rider and the pillion to help make riding together safer, smoother and more enjoyable.

During your session we may cover:

• Setting the motorcycle up for riding two-up
• Suspension, luggage and passenger considerations
• Smooth acceleration and braking
• Cornering and machine control with a pillion
• Riding styles that increase passenger confidence
• Communication between rider and passenger
• Understanding the pillion’s role on the motorcycle
• Mounting and dismounting safely
• Managing longer rides and rider fatigue
• Planning for touring and days out

Your pillion isn’t simply a passenger — they are part of the motorcycle system and influence balance, comfort and the overall riding experience.

By helping both rider and pillion understand their role, riding becomes smoother, more relaxed and significantly more enjoyable for everyone.

Who knows… with the right experience, your pillion might even encourage more rides, more weekends away… and possibly a bigger touring budget.

Ride together. Ride smoothly. Enjoy the journey.
