Video Analysis FAQs

Is this a riding test?

No. There are no pass or fail marks. The aim is to provide practical coaching that helps you continue developing your riding.

Can I send footage from any camera?

Yes. Helmet cameras, motorcycle-mounted cameras and 360° cameras are all suitable. Higher-quality footage generally allows for a more detailed analysis.

How long should the footage be?

We'll provide guidance when you book, but rides of approximately 30 to 90 minutes usually offer enough variety for a meaningful assessment.

Will you edit my footage?

No. The focus is on analysing your riding and providing professional feedback rather than producing an edited riding video.

Can this replace on-road coaching?

Video analysis is an excellent learning tool, but it complements rather than replaces practical coaching. Many riders use it as the first step before progressing to a SmoothRider Rider Assessment or One-to-One Coaching session.

How do I send the Footage?

SmoothRider will send a link to a secure sharing site where you will be able to share the footage. Once the review is completed SmoothRider will delete the footage.

Do I need to Edit my Footage

Ideally not. However if you are supplying 360deg footage you should supply one full length front view and one full length rear facing view.

How will I see the review

Once completed SmoothRider will share a private link so that you can view the footage and also download it.
