Wales
If there's a better place to receive your motorcycle mentoring than Mid and North Wales, we've yet to find it.
From sweeping mountain passes to deserted reservoir roads, this is where every bend leads to another unforgettable view. Whether you're chasing perfectly cambered corners or simply soaking up the scenery, these legendary roads deserve a place on every rider's bucket list.
Start with the breath-taking Elan Valley, where smooth tarmac winds between Victorian dams, shimmering reservoirs and the wild Cambrian Mountains. Quiet roads, endless visibility and spectacular scenery make it one of Britain's finest motorcycle destinations.
Head north to the iconic B4391, stretching between Bala and Llan Ffestiniog. Fast, flowing and surrounded by dramatic open moorland, it's a road that rewards precision, rhythm and restraint in equal measure.
No Welsh riding guide would be complete without the legendary EVO Triangle. Made famous by road testers and enthusiasts alike, this 20-mile loop combines the A543, B4501 and A5 into one of the UK's most celebrated driving and riding roads. The scenery is stunning, but remember it's also closely monitored, so ride for the experience—not the stopwatch.
Then there's the spectacular A493 between Dolgellau and Machynlleth, hugging the southern edge of Eryri with flowing bends and panoramic views. Cross the dramatic Bwlch y Groes (Hellfire Pass), tackle the sweeping A4212 towards Bala, or lose yourself on the quiet roads around Lake Vyrnwy, where every mile feels like it was built with motorcycles in mind.
The beauty of riding Wales isn't just the famous roads—it's the hidden ones in between. The unnamed B-roads linking Rhayader, Llanidloes, Corris, Trawsfynydd and Betws-y-Coed often become the rides you'll remember most.
Ride them with respect, expect sheep around the next corner, stop for the views, and you'll discover why Mid and North Wales remain one of Europe's greatest motorcycling playgrounds.
